In times when most people avoid the cold, prefer lightweight rucksacks, and eat from dusk till dawn, I realized I am a nonconformist.
I do the opposite of what most people do. The truth is that I am not doing it for the sake of doing the opposite, but because I believe it truly makes sense. I chose my own path of discomfort. I have no doubt it makes a more robust human, not only physically, but also mentally. How do I do all these things? If you read my blog regularly, my Dear Friend, undoubtedly, you know. Still, if you are new to this website, I will provide some insights into how I became a nonconformist.
Here we go:
1) It all started with intermittent fasting since Christmas 2020 (I wrote this text on the 13th of January, 2026). It was a time I decided not to eat earlier than 7 p.m. I adjusted intermittent fasting to my rhythm of life. I decided that evening would be the best time for me to eat (after working in the office and doing street photography). In general, until today, I have stuck to this way of life. Also, I avoid consuming sugar, candies, cookies, soda, alcohol, processed food, and carbs. I focus mainly on eating meat, eggs, vegetables, and nuts. Since I started doing intermittent fasting, I have no doubt that my mind and body work more efficiently. It will make me healthier not only in the short term, but also in the long term.
2) Then, taking cold/freezing showers (April 2021) and walking in summer clothes in frigid temperatures appeared (Fall/Winter season 2021/2022). Since I started doing these things, in general, I feel healthy and resilient.
3) Rucking (walking with a heavy rucksack) improved not only my musculature but also my endurance. As of today, I can walk for over 13k steps with 37.5 kg (83 lbs) on my back and shoulders without any stops. I have no doubt that this physical exercise made a more robust human.
That’s how I became a nonconformist.
