How happy I am that rucking with 37.5 kg (83 lbs) on my back and shoulders, without a break, became the norm.
I wrote this text on the 27th of December, 2025. During that day, I was rucking for the second day in a row with 37.5 kg on my back and shoulders. During these two days, I haven’t taken a break on the bench. Earlier, I remember I wrote that after three consecutive walks with a 37.5 kg rucksack, I would consider increasing the weight of my backpack. It was one or two months ago (I do not remember precisely). Today, I must admit that walking with such a heavy burden, without a break, has become the norm. Today, I do not ask myself whether I would increase the weight of my rucksack in the future. Today, I am asking myself if it happens in January or February.
As of today, I think I will increase the weight of the backpack in January 2026.
Also, I plan to increase it to 40 kg (88 lbs). It will be my magic border. I think that if I manage to increase my rucking journey to 40 kg in the first quarter of 2026, it would be my only increase in 2026. I can imagine that walking with 40 kg will truly hurt. I remember I was writing many times that walking with 37.5 kg hurts. During the first months, I was taking even three breaks during a single walk.
Today, I do not need a break at all.
That’s why I think I will increase the weight within the next one or two months. Mentally, I am getting ready for this challenge. Physically, I know I am ready for it. Keep your fingers crossed for my power, my Dear Friend. What if I won’t manage to increase the weight in the first quarter of 2026? Nothing. I will try to increase it in the second quarter of 2026. Nevertheless, I feel I am ready for it.
