The older I get, the more I feel I do not like social gatherings.
Did I like them in the past? Yes, I did. For example, many years ago, I was attending Legia Warsaw (the best football club in Poland) matches. I know these were not typical social gatherings. Nevertheless, I liked crowds. Today (I wrote this text on the 16th of February, 2026), I realized that I do not attend any meetings where there are many people. It is not the case that I do not like people. I like them. Still, I prefer talking to fewer people. When there are a lot of people around me, I feel too distracted. Too many things are happening around me. Also, I wrote many times that I love being with my thoughts alone. Street photography helps me with that. I love humming, rocking in the clouds, leading internal dialogues with myself, with imaginary people. Also, I love doing imaginary dialogues with real people.
Regarding social gatherings, usually, too many things are happening around me.
I cannot focus easily. Also, after the social gathering ends, I feel exhausted. Listening and talking to other people is really challenging for me. Unless I speak with one or two people, I would say that talking to people exhausts me. That’s why I avoid social gatherings as much as I can. Of course, when there are such group events in my professional career, I adjust, accept, and go there. Still, when I do not have to attend such events, I go there.
If you read my blog regularly, my Dear Friend, undoubtedly, you know I like to read and write. It means I love being with my own thoughts. I am not bored with myself, because if I am lonely, I can talk to myself. I do not need to know many people to be happy. I am glad I am with my beloved Kamilka, with whom I love to talk. Also, I love talking with my parents, family, and friends.
