Spiritual needs.

Doing street photography and writing fulfill spiritual needs.

I would say that doing street photography and writing are my spiritual needs. I wrote this text on the 14th of March, 2026. It was a day when I was rucking with a backpack weighing 37.5 kg (83 lbs). Of course, while walking, I was doing street photography. I took 275 photos and took over 13.5k steps. These numbers are not as impressive as the ones from the last three days (on average, I took 697 pictures and took 26.6k steps daily between the 11th and 13th of March, 2026). Still, today’s result was also an awesome one. During the last days, I reminded myself (not for the first time in my life) that creating (in my case, these are: doing street photography, writing, managing the www.adammazek.com blog, and preparing sets of pictures like “Street Photography” or “Inspired By Tolkien”) is the essence of my life.

I cannot imagine living without all these things.

While writing all these things, I decided I would make another order regarding buying the www.adammazek.com t-shirts. Due to additional free time during the last few days, today, I felt another spiritual need that had to be fulfilled. I ordered new T-shirts, because the previous ones were already torn. How happy I am that tomorrow will be Sunday, so I will still have one day to walk, do street photography, and carry a heavy burden on my back and shoulders. Of course, I assume that on Monday I will be able to work in my professional job.

The last one fulfills my economic needs.

The broadly defined creative activities are for my otherworldly needs. That’s the way it is. I think I will have to finish this writing as I am getting sleepy. The truth is that I devoted my evening to ordering new t-shirts (23 for myself and 11 for my Friends). I am tired. Luckily, I managed to complete the order.

Totally agree. Both practices force us to look at the world in deeper and non-ordinary, non-linear ways. A photographer (I forget who) said: a photograph must have two things. Geometry and emotion. I like that and feel it applies to both photography and writing…..and come to think of it, life.

100% true. I hope my photographs and texts have these visual and spiritual dimensions, but I have no doubt we can all improve them until our lives end.
