The more I do it, the more I sense that street photography is the greatest hobby I could ever imagine.
I wrote this text on the 4th of January, 2026. It was a day when I was doing street photography in Warsaw, which was covered with snow like a bed covered with a white, delicate duvet. When I got out of my home, I was as happy as a child. I was photographing, among others, snowmen that I met during my walk. I even photographed an igloo. While noticing that someone built a beautiful igloo, I started to wonder how tremendous the imagination people have, with those who managed to build something like an igloo at the forefront. While walking in summer clothes (it was -2 degrees Celsius [28.4 degrees Fahrenheit]) and with a backpack weighing 37.5 kg (83 lbs.), I was tremendously happy I was simply alive, and I was cherishing this world, including the power of the human mind.
Pure, simple, minimalist views were simply attacking my senses, with a sense of vision at the forefront.
While walking and enjoying life, I realised, not for the first time in my life, that taking pictures on the streets is the greatest hobby I could ever imagine. I do not seek other activities (especially when I add to it exposing my body to cold and walking with a heavy rucksack), except mental activities like writing or managing the www.adammazek.com blog. This text is my love letter to street photography. I love to walk, contemplate, or think about nothing, and take pictures of almost everything that would catch my eye. If you feel a desire to photograph, my Dear Friend, take your camera or smartphone, and photograph whatever would attract your senses. In street photography, I trust. While writing all these things, I started to wonder how many great photos are awaiting me to be captured in the next couple of years.
