The world is indifferent both to our dreams, fears, and nightmares.
The older I get, the more I see that the world is indifferent to our dreams, fears, and nightmares.
Of course, I still believe that the world will listen to my internal prayers to whoever created this world about my dreams and plans. Still, the older I am, the more I see no one listen to my prayers. I still believe someone does it, but my faith is weakening. The only answer I receive in prayers is silence. There is no certainty in one’s life. I do not trust those who talk too much. That’s why I prefer to focus on my development and learning. I do not want to win free money in a lottery.
Moreover, I do not expect any divine force to make me feel better or stronger.
I am Adam Mazek, and the only person I can influence and grow is myself. Of course, it is not true I can coax myself 100% and totally control my own thoughts and feelings. If I could do that, undoubtedly, I would be a demigod. Does that all mean I do not have any dreams or aims? Of course, I have plenty of them. Still, I know I must entirely focus on doing to achieve my goals. I cannot rely on a divine force majeure, thanks to which one day I will get up and feel a demigod for no reason.
I want to intermittent fasting and take a cold shower until the end of my life to become more robust than I am today (I wrote this text on the 31st of August, 2023). Does it mean I do not have fears and nightmares? Yes, I have some. The truth is that I am only a human who cannot control practically everything, with my own thoughts, feelings, other humans, or external issues, with the weather at the forefront.
