When I was doing street photography on the 11th of November, 2025, in the Wlochy district, I noticed a place (not for the first time in my life, as I had walked there many times) where there was nothing to photograph, except for some trees and grass.
When I saw it, I told myself, “There is nothing here.” Then, suddenly, out of nothingness, et voila, an incentive to write a new text appeared in my mind. I decided to return to this happening on the 16th of November, 2025, while writing the fourth text for my blog. After telling the titled ‘There Is Nothing Here’ phrase, Â I realized there was, in fact, something to photograph. It was a moment when I took a picture of the mentioned trees and grass. The featured image of this post is this picture*. I have written many times on the www.adammazek.com blog that I believe we can take great photos from every point on Earth.
It is only up to our imagination of how we use our sense of sight to spot something peculiar and ‘eternalize’ it for future generations.
By ‘eternalizing’ a photograph, I mean capturing a moment in time that can be revisited and appreciated by others in the future. Train your mind, mindset, eyes, and thoughts to how you view the world around you, my Dear Friend. Trust the process. If you are in a place where there is nothing, and you cannot take a photo there, ask yourself again. If you still do not see anything special to photograph, ask yourself even for the third time, or more.
After all, you can always take a selfie, and it will always be a different selfie than the one you took one day earlier.
I love such divagations about the nature of street photography. No matter where you live, my Dear Friend, you can always go out, no matter if it is day or night (if it is already dark, better take a tripod with you), and photograph whatever attracts your eyes, even if seemingly there is nothing to photograph in your neighborhood.
