Sometimes I imagine Warsaw as warfare and that I am a soldier with a heavy backpack holding a gun in my hand (instead of a camera).
I wrote this text on the 25th of October, 2025. It was a day when I was doing street photography in the WÅ‚ochy district. While walking and rucking (walking with a heavy rucksack – it weighed 37.5 kg [83 lbs]), I was imagining that my heavy rucksack was the soldierly one (of course, it’s Polish producer, Wisport, also produces rucksacks for the Polish army) and my Nikon D-90 was not a camera, but a gun waiting for the Russian trolls to appeared in fron of my eyes. Did I get crazy? Perhaps I did. After all, there is no war in Poland as of today. Still, mainstream media are constantly scaring Polish society that the war against Rushists can, indeed, occur. I have written many times that we should not feed ourselves with news from the mainstream media.
In general, I agree with that.
Nevertheless, it is hard to be indifferent to all the things happening in Ukraine since the full-scale war erupted on the 24th of February, 2022. I think it is better to be prepared (at least mentally) for the actual war, also in Poland. What would I do if the fucking Rushists attacked my homeland? I would wait to be recruited to the army. If I wanted to escape from the potential warfare, I think I should do it today, without waiting for the Russian attack.
I decided to stay in Poland, even if the Rushists would attack, and greet them with the power of the Polish bullets and fists. Undoubtedly, I am not a Pacifist, and I will defend Poland in case of Russian aggression. I hope war won’t come to Poland, but I know if it happens, I will end up in the military. I will go there and defend my homeland so I can return to my artistic activities.
