What to eat as a snack?

February 1, 2023 by Adam Mazek

Throughout most of my life, I often asked myself, “What to eat as a snack?”

Today I want to provide an answer not only to myself but also to you, my Dear Friend. If you don’t know what to eat as a snack, I have a recommendation for you. Once you ask yourself the entitled question, you’d better take a cold shower, pour frigid water over your body, go out and ask yourself the same question again. I am convinced that hunger, a mere appetite sitting in the head rather than in the stomach, will pass. How happy I am that I take freezing cold showers and do intermittent fasting. Thanks to doing all these things, I do not ask myself, “What to eat as a snack?” anymore.

I know that eating snacks between meals can be destructive to all people’s health.

Eating can slowly kill all of us. Eating sugar candies, cakes, etc., or processed food is at the top list of not to do for me. That’s why I recommend you, from the bottom of my heart, my Dear Friend, to make friends with cold and start intermittent fasting as soon as possible. The truth is that, from the evolutionary point of view, human bodies are not accustomed to eating all the time. That’s why I recommend stopping eating and even thinking about snacks. For more information, I recommend reading Dr. Jason Fung’s book entitled “The Complete Guide to Fasting: Heal Your Body Through Intermittent, Alternate-Day, and Extended Fasting.”

Still, I think that I can give you advice that worked for me:

  • I eat only between 7 p.m. – 12 p.m.;
  • during fasting, I drink only water, coffee, or broth;
  • I recommend boiling broth (with meat and bones – without any bouillon cubes), especially during the first months of doing intermittent fasting. It can help you overcome situations when your mind will tell you to eat a snack;
  • During the first months of intermittent fasting, always have a bottle of water near your side.
