In today’s post (I wrote it on the 15th of November, 2025), I will try to explain when I will increase the weight of my rucksack for rucking.
I have been using the current weight (37.5 kg [83 lbs]) since (if my memory serves me correctly) the beginning of June 2025. It means I haven’t increased the weight of my rucksack during the last six months. Why? When will I do it? I will consider expanding the weight after three consecutive walks with the current weight, during which I will not take a break. For example, today, I made 11k steps with the weight as above, but I took one break (I had to do it to relax my arms, shoulders, and back). Or, for example, on the 8th of November, 2025, I took 13,000 steps with the same weight, but I also had to take one break. Undoubtedly, I need to get my body used to the current weight so that I can safely increase it.
Without three consecutive walkings without any single break, with such heavy equipment, there won’t be any increase in the weight of my backpack.
I feel that my organism, even if it has already changed to a more robust, resilient, and powerful one, is not the organism of a demigod who could literally move mountains. Sometimes I wonder if rucking 37.5 kg on my back and shoulders is my limit. Perhaps it is. Perhaps I will never increase this weight. Does it mean I will be crying for it? Of course, not. After all, after each such photo walk with such a heavy rucksack, I feel totally exhausted.
It simply means that this weight is a hectic effort for my body. That’s why I do not have to change it, because it still provides me with enough effort. I remember some of my writings (especially during the beginning of my journey with rucking) that I planned to slowly and gradually increase the weight of my backpack. This text only proves it, and I hope it encourages you to be patient and understanding of your own journey.
