Yesterday (I wrote the „Writing in Word document” text on the 6th of March, 2025), I decided I would be writing my texts in a Word document. Why?
It was because I could not log in to my Grammarly account. The truth is that I have been using the Grammarly application since May 2017 (it was a time when I started writing for my blog). When I realized I could not use a Grammarly account (I raised a ticket in Customer Service to solve the issue), I started to write yesterday’s text in Word. While doing it, I realized I had a better tempo of writing. That’s the main reason why I decided to write in Word documents. Why did I have a relatively slower tempo while writing in the Grammarly application? It was because Grammarly often prevents me from writing fast.
It happens when I make mistakes (e.g., a typo, lack of a comma, etc.).
When I see the color in my text in the Grammarly application, I stop writing and check what Grammarly wants to tell me. I would not say it was a smooth and efficient way to work. It often disrupted me from the main topic and from the flow of words that appeared in my mind and which should have been transferred onto the virtual sheet of paper. Does it all mean I plan to stop using the Grammarly application? No, I will be using it, but after finishing the text. I will copy and paste it from the Word document to Grammarly.
I believe it will be my way of work for the upcoming weeks, perhaps even months. Who knows, maybe I will be working that way until the end of my life. After all, I want to write until my death or until my brain lets me do it. Even if I had a relatively short (over a month) break in writing, I know I won’t stop doing it in the long term.
