I belong to a particular area of this planet.

I know that I’ve been writing many times that the center of my Universe is exactly where I am. Still, the older I am, the more I feel I belong to a particular area of this planet. People named this area “Poland.”

I wrote this text on the 9th of January, 2026. It was a day when I realized that during the next two days I would be able to do street photography, rucking, and exposing my body to cold by walking in summer clothes in freezing temperatures. Indeed, the perceived temperatures during a weekend will range from -7 to -13 degrees Celsius (from 17 to 8.6 degrees Fahrenheit). Indeed, it will be the first time I will be able to do all these things in such low temperatures. Still, I think I will have to set priorities, and due to short days and the possibility of taking photos, my priority will be to do street photography.

That’s why I think tomorrow I will go out in long jeans, a hoodie, a winter cap, and gloves, and probably will take off the hoodie during my return home.

I think I won’t be rucking tomorrow. Regarding Sunday, I will decide what to do tomorrow. But why did I title this text “I belong to a particular area of this planet?” It is because I recalled such great, heavy, freezing winters during my childhood years in Małkinia Górna (north-eastern part of Mazovia voivodship). When I started to recall those white, beautiful winter times of the ‘90s, I realized I’ve been living in Poland for forty years, and I do not want and cannot imagine living anywhere else. Even if the fucking Putin’s Russian trolls would attack Poland, I won’t move out of here (if I were called up to the army, I would go there). I know I have my own place on Earth and, together with my beloved Kamilka, we do not want to live anywhere else.
