I do not know it, but after the exhausting week at my office job, I started to think that I need to change something. I think I simply need a trip. Perhaps I will choose Kaunas, the second biggest Lithuanian city.
I wrote this text on the 18th of April, 2026. In my previous text, I wrote that during the last week I was working not 40 hours, but over 56 hours weekly. I feel I have simply enough. I feel I need to change the environment. The truth is that in the second half of July 2026, together with my beloved Kamilka, we are going to the Lithuanian seaside town of Palanga. We plan to eat from morning till dusk and lie on a beach. Still, I have (already approved) four days off in June. It is simple to add one additional day off, and that’s how I will be able to have nine days off. My beloved Kamilka does not know if she managed to travel, for leisure time, outside Warsaw in June.
Still, I simply feel I need an additional reward for my hectic effort in my professional job (please remember, my Dear Friend, I work as an accountant).
That’s why I decided to book a stay in the Lithuanian city of Kaunas in the middle of June, 2026. Of course, it is an option. Plans can change, depending on whether my beloved Kamilka will be able to travel anywhere in June. Still, I decided that if she won’t be able to travel with me, I will go myself (just in case, I booked the apartment for two persons + cat [our little Azorek]). If I go by myself, I plan to take long photographing walks wherever my eyes will lead me. I plan to do at least 25k daily (my reservation is for 5 nights).
Why Kaunas?
I’ve never done street photography in this city (OK, together with my beloved Kamilka, in 2021, while returning from the Latvian capital, Riga, we stayed in Kaunas for a short period to eat something in the Old City, I took some pictures, but it was a really short time), and it is relatively close to Warsaw. Let’s see what the future brings, and if I manage to do street photography in Kaunas in June 2026.
