In the “Letter to Fear” post, I will reply to the letter from Fear, which I published in my previous post. Here we go:
Dear Fear,
Thank you for your letter, which I was glad to receive. This is what I want to tell you. First of all, thanks for being with me all the time. We may never know it, but perhaps you already saved my life, because I was cautious thanks to you. Thank you, my Dear Fear! I know without having you by my side, I would not be who I am. You know what? I am genuinely proud of myself, and I am no longer scared of anything. You are totally right that I cannot prepare for the death of my beloved ones, but if you think I will shut down my mind in your grip, being scared and waiting for their death, you are totally wrong!
You’ve been a crucial part of my journey towards personal growth and self-acceptance.
I plan to keep my head up, grateful for the present moment, without worrying too much about the future, because imaginary scenarios inspired by you may never come to pass. There are infinite scenarios for my future life, and I do not plan to bother the ones that scare me. I plan to keep you near my side until my death, hoping you won’t have too much space for your activities, thanks to things I do and which you mentioned in your letters. Keep your head up as well, my Dear Fear, because I will control you. I expect a long, challenging, and harsh journey in the following decades, and believe me, it will hurt, but we will also have great fun.
Please don’t be so sad that I won’t contact you as much as I did during my childhood. I grew up, and I’ve transformed you into a positive force in my life. I expect from life nothing more than mental and physical pain. Knowing this, I honestly do not fear anything. Better prepare for it as well!
Kind regards,
Adam Mazek
