Today (I wrote this text on the 8th of May, 2026), I will have one day of doing nothing before breaking the rucking record.
Yesterday, I took 12k steps without a break with a rucksack weighing 37.5 kg (83 lbs). Also, yesterday, I decided to add to my rucksack an additional 3 kg of barbell plates. Tomorrow, I plan to break my personal record in rucking. I do not know if I will manage to do it. I am afraid of walking with a 40.5 kg load on my back and shoulders. Still, I simply feel that I want to give it a try. That’s why today, I was not walking. I took only a short walk with my beloved Kamilka to the pizzeria. I wanted to relax and rest today, without physical activity. Regarding mental activity, my professional job was sufficient for me (I was working remotely on that day).
What if I resign from walking with a 40.5 kg rucksack on my back and shoulders? Nothing.
The Earth will still revolve around the Sun, without any disruptions. I do not do rucking for breaking records. Nevertheless, I am simply curious what the limit of my endurance is. I remember that when I was starting rucking with 37.5 kg on my back and shoulders, I was telling myself (I was convinced!) that this weight would be my limit and that it would be impossible to walk with a higher number of kilograms. Today, I am thinking that I could be wrong, and perhaps I can go further. Tomorrow we will see. I feel I can do it, but I am simply afraid. Like a virgin, I would say. I am afraid I will break my leg or back. Or maybe nothing would happen to me? No matter what, I will do it; I will give it a try.
