For most people, the symbol of freedom is a bird/pigeon. I do not argue with that. Nevertheless, the synonym for sovereignty is also the camera and sneakers.
I do not joke when I say that freedom for me is the possibility that I can go anywhere. For me, wearing comfortable shoes and taking pictures of the surroundings is a symbolic, essential part of freedom. While walking, we can enjoy all the delights of the road. We can head in all directions; it is only up to us which way we choose. If we get tired, we can sit on the bench in the shadow of the tree and contemplate the surrounding. During the warmer seasons, I sometimes possess a book to read while resting.
The fact is that during both walking and resting, I can contemplate life and death all the time.
Traveling on your feet
means cleansing a soul. With comfortable sneakers and clothes, we can wander whenever we like. Moreover, we can enjoy the indescribable pleasures of the surroundings and sky.
Also, the possibility of creating is a synonym and symbol of freedom. I wouldn’t say I like politics, and I do not want to write about it. Nevertheless, I am convinced that if a new law connected with restrictions on taking photographs in the public space is implemented, I know that for me, it would be a sign to move on to another country. Also, I would feel that someone stole my freedom. For me, the most profound and crucial symbol of freedom is the possibility of creating whatever we want.
I hope, my Dear Friend, that I explained why the camera and sneakers symbolize freedom for me. Without walking and taking pictures, my soul would die immediately. And what about you, my Dear Friend? What represents freedom for you?
