Suppose I have a temporary lack of inspiration to continue writing another text. In that case, I often return to writing with a head full of ideas after taking a cold shower.
I remember one time when I was struggling with a particularly challenging article, and a cold shower helped me come up with a unique angle that I hadn’t considered before. After taking a cold shower, I quickly finalize what I started earlier. I am only a human, not a demigod. Thus, I am aware that being fully productive twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week is impossible. Sometimes, I can start writing something rapidly, but after minutes of writing, I lose the impetus. I simply have a temporary lack of inspiration. It is a moment when it is better to stop, slow down, rest, do something else (e.g., take a cold shower), and return to writing after a while. I have experienced many times that the cold shower refreshes my mind and imagination. It makes me feel reborn again and again.
How happy I am that I can take freezing showers practically every day of the year. This practice stimulates not only my body but also my mind.
For me, exposing my body to coldness (including taking cold showers and wearing summer clothes in frigid temperatures) is a magic key to broadly defined development. When I add to this activity intermittent fasting (I eat between 7 p.m. and 12 p.m. and avoid processed food and carbohydrates) and working out (I love to hang on the bar simply), I know that I have powerful tools that empower me, among others, in the broadly defined creation process. That’s how I overcame the titled temporary lack of inspiration. For example, when I have it, I can hang out at my bar for a while.
Another way to break the temporary absence of stimulation is to walk and read. For me, walking and doing street photography is one of the best ways to receive inspiration directly and literally from my surroundings, even in the most mundane settings. We can always learn something new from each photo walk, no matter how ordinary the environment may seem.
