Weekend. At last!

September 11, 2026 by Adam Mazek Leave a Comment

I wrote the “Weekend. At last!” text on the 27th of March, 2026. It was Friday, late evening, and I wanted to write anything, but I did not have a specific topic.

I was very tired. I think that I often repeat that I am tired after my office work. It is simply true. Then, I recalled my thoughts from the past. I wrote that when I do not have a specific topic to write, then I should literally write what my mind tells me. That’s how the title of this text appeared. Indeed, I am really grateful I will be able to sleep at least 8 hours during the next two days. I love sleeping. I believe that walking and sleeping are the most underrated activities. Tomorrow, after getting up, I will drink a coffee with my beloved Kamilka. While doing it, we will be chatting and reading. What do I plan to read?

I ordered two books from my favorite bookstore, Bookoff.pl: Dictionary of Photography and The Street Photographer’s Manual Revised Edition (both published by one of my favorite publishing houses, The Thames & Hudson).

The truth is that I cannot wait to see these books. I already have them in our house, but I did not have the time and energy to open the parcel from the bookstore. I will do it tomorrow, with a refreshed mind. Well, I love not only to do street photography, or write about it, but I also love to read about photography to get inspired and to get to know other artists’ and photographers’ perspectives and approaches to their creative endeavors. Also, I need to give away some of the books that I read, and I know I won’t return to them in the future. We do not have many places on our bookshelves, so that’s why I would have to give away some books in Spring 2026.
